WE NEED YOUR HELP- SPONSOR A CHILD'S EDUCATION FOR JUST £150 PER YEAR

Aim for change is a charity that began by providing cows for Kokoa- a small village in Uganda. Our work has now spread to a variety of sustainable livestock projects in OVER 40 villages all over the country. We are supporting orphans in Kampala, the Amazing Grace school and a house for street children in Mbarara, in the South West. Aim for Change is providing full time education for refugee children near Lira, in the war torn North of Uganda. In 2006 Aim for Change extended its work to Pakistan.

Aim for change is registered with the Charity Commission (Number 1107924). 100% of all money donated goes directly to the projects in Uganda or Pakistan.  Learn more about Aim for Change and how you can help directly support the people in Uganda by clicking the buttons above. Livestock

An inter-bred cow like this bought locally costs as little as £150 and can provide milk, transport and breeding stock. We have been able to purchase 600 village pigs, 38 larger imported pigs as well as goats and chickens. These animals will provide food and an income which can be used for education. As they breed, some of the litter will be passed onto other villages. We are also starting a sustainable farming project growing beans, maize and vanilla. One of the original cows has now produced a calf. Goats and pigs are purchased when pregnant so they produce offspring rapidly.

Water

Until recently the villagers of Kokoa have had to walk some distance to collect a very limited supply of water. They were charged for access to the water. We had been raising money to pay for a bore hole within the village. However, following discussions with the British High Commission in Kampala and representation to the British Government, the Government agreed to fund $8,500 for this project.

Opening the bore-hole: . Fresh drinking water is now available to all the villagers in Kokoa- which has dramatically improved their lives. A second bore hole was installed in Labongo village, Masindi in 2006. Land has been purchased in the village of Olep, Soriti for a third bore hole.
