Shelter
for Street Children- Mbarara
In April 2005 we were able
to provide funds to construct a wooden shelter for some of the street
children at Mbarara. This provides a safe home and two meals
a day, as well as basic medical treatment for up to 50 street kids, some of
whom previously lived on a rubbish dump. We urgently need
sponsorship for these children to pay for education and skills training.
The house now also provides one meal a day to 50 other street children, who
still sadly live on the streets. In September 2006 a new
brick building was built, where the children can sleep.

Since December 2005 we have provided funding
for many of the children from this house to attend
full time education in school. One young man is being
funded to train as a mechanic.
